Our mission
At HLG, we empower you to explore your global mobility options and take the best possible course of action when it comes to relocation, residency, or investment migration, through comprehensive and accessible advice based on our proprietary information index.
With our dedication to excellence and a people-first attitude, we make sure that individuals and families worldwide can confidently compare countries and plan their next move with clarity, security, and expert guidance.
Accessibility and transparency
We launched the I-Passport Index to boost the accessibility and understanding of the practical factors that shape where people choose to live, work, study, or invest.
The Index is the culmination of HLG's decades of immigration expertise and deep industry knowledge that recognizes tax burden, safety, cost of living, and education as the core, often fragmented, considerations behind any relocation decision. Our global network of legal experts created the I-Passport Index to make global mobility planning more transparent, understandable, and accessible for anyone weighing where to relocate, retire, or invest, supported by an AI advisor that grounds every recommendation entirely in the Index's own verified dataset.
Public benefit
Beyond serving individuals and families, the I-Passport Index also empowers researchers, journalists, and policymakers by enabling cross-country comparisons across key factors such as taxation, safety, cost of living, and education. This initiative embodies our broader mission: to equip people with knowledge, expand access to global opportunities, and simplify the complexities of international mobility, residency, and citizenship planning.
Every formula is published
The Index does not produce new primary research. Each factor comes from an independent institution that publishes its own methodology, and the workings that turn those four different scales into one comparable score are set out in full, including how missing data is handled and where the limits of the method lie.
